Johnson - Day One 02/18/2008
Left to Right: Rosemary: Patrick and Rebecca moved in with us shortly after Patrick's wife passed away. When Andrew and I announced we were moving to Crystalline Valley, they made the move with us. I wasn't surprised; as far as maternal figures go, I'm all Rebecca has. Rosemary: Patrick set to work immediately finding a new job. His wife has been dead since before Rebecca even started school, but he still throws himself into work and his studies. Rosemary: He had no luck finding work, but he did meet a very lovely young woman. Her name was Janine Dobson, and it turns out that she just moved here, also. Rosemary: Pat was all set to just let her leave, but I did a little interfering and invited her in for lunch. Janine accepted, and the two had a nice chat over lunch meat sandwiches. She'll be back before long, I'll promise you that. Rosemary: Rebecca didn't waste any time making friends with the neighbors, either. She hung out with a boy named Jacob Edwards for most of the afternoon. It turns out that he is starting at the same high school as Rebecca tomorrow. Rosemary: The poor child had nothing to go home to but a couple of tents, so of course I invited him in for sandwiches, too. He kept Rebecca occupied while all the adults were working. Andrew had gotten a job at the law firm, and Patrick was still looking for work. Rosemary: And me? Well, I spent my day cooking and cleaning. Rosemary: Jacob didn't go home until after dark, so I imagine the two of them were very close by the end of the day. Rosemary: It's getting late, so I'll leave you for now. This neighborhood is starting to look very promising. |
